Description

Optimization and monitoring of systems and networks for Andaltec, a plastics technology center in Southern Spain.

The project

CLIENT CHALLENGE

Andaltec is a 10,000 m2 plastic technology center located in Jaén, Andalusia. Certified as a National Technology Center by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competition, the center offers advanced technological services, development of R&D&I projects, and specialized training to increase the competitiveness of companies in the plastics sector.

Previously, Andaltec’s networks consisted of a DPC (data processing center) with network electronics, servers and storage with no capacity for growth or manufacturer support.

Andaltec needed to ensure reliability in its data processing and continuity in daily activities, while also fostering continued growth.

SOLUTION

Following a study and personalized assessment by Wellness TechGroup, a converged data center was created based on a FlexPod architecture (developed jointly by Cisco and NetApp). This includes servers for data processing, communications, and storage capacity based on the NetApp platform, allowing for maximum performance and uptime. This makes the optimizations of systems and networks possible, as well as having a single DPC.

By making the most of the newly installed infrastructure, its processing capacity and backup power, the company now has a flexible system capable of incorporating any possible extensions it may need down the road.

RESULTS

  • Optimization of systems and network.
  • Central DPC.
  • Power to manage backups.
  • Flexible system able to incorporate extensions.
