The project

The GWIRE project develops a cable theft detection solution through the detection of any malicious or unauthorized manipulation (or of the stages prior to said event) of the monitored cable or other elements such as frames, boxes, etc. Threats may be detected due to a physical event, such as the movement of the cable itself, or due to a lack of voltage in the line.

WTG'S OBJECTIVES

  • Design a cable theft detection solution by identifying physical or electrical events.
  • External and independent power source.
  • Characterisation of structured and unstructured electrical networks.
  • Piloting.
  • Data collection platform compatible with WeLight.
  • Development of a mobile app for deployments.
