The project

WTG proposes a solution capable of reducing the problems related to waste management, offering an optimized waste collection service. To do so, the developed system allows for a reduction in the frequency of collection based on the fill level of the different types of containers. A lower collection frequency results in a decrease in annual services, investments, and associated impacts (i.e. pollutant emissions, odours, noise, and energy consumption, among others).

Consortium: Wellness TechGroup, Oporto, Carouge, Calatayud.

WTG'S OBJECTIVES

  • Optimization of waste collection based on the fill level of containers.
  • Reduction of carbon footprint of the organization, both in collection logistics and service management.
  • Improvement of the environmental quality of the city, as well as the perceptions of its citizens.
  • Development of a commercial system potentially replicable in other cities and for different container models.

WTG'S ROLE

  • 150 Q and 150 MiniQ deployment in three European cities: Oporto, Carouge and Calatayud.
  • Development of the connectors needed to serve data to Synchronicity platform.
