The project

Main objective of the project is to decrease the environmental impact related to grape production by introducing novel technologies for PA and validate in two vineyards in Italy (www.famigliacottarella.it) and Spain (www.f-schatz.com). Two full prototypes of the innovation will be developed, each of them consisting in: a remote-controlled aircraft component, an innovative autonomous terrestrial electric rover moving along the vineyards and equipped with actuators, multisensory instrumentation for proximal sensing, areal time location system, a ground control station IoT management platform, software and a series of sensors for real time data and for ground monitoring of main microclimatic parameters.

Consortium: Univ. Tuscia, CRA, Inova, Luiss, Cluster Smart Cities, SETEL, WTG.

WTG'S OBJECTIVES

  • Design an embedded system to add processing capability to terrestrial Rover.
  • Data gathering from ground sensors and images from aerial drone.
  • Communication layer.
  • Exploitation platform for pilot monitoring.

WTG'S ROLE

  • Design and Construction of the Prototypes and Sensors Installation.
  • Measurements Campaign, Modeling, Data Fusion.
  • Replication and exploitation Plan.
  • Monitoring of the Project Impact:
    • LIFE key project level indicators
    • The environmental impact of the project through a Life Cycle Analysis (LCA)
    • The socio-economic impact of the project considering an exploitation plan of the WINEgROVER technology
