Wellness TechGroup and NNNCo combine forces with integrated streetlighting solution

European IoT solutions provider Wellness TechGroup and Australian LoRaWAN network carrier National Narrowband Network Co (NNNCo) have joined forces to bring complete smart city solutions to the global IoT market.

The integrated offering includes a mature end-to-end streetlighting solution that combines Wellness TechGroup’s smart controllers and WeLight streetlighting application with NNNCo’s open, non-proprietary LoRaWAN carrier network and technology-agnostic N2N-DL data platform.

Wellness TechGroup CEO David Garcia Ternero said, “This integrated solution is about enabling today’s cities to transform into smart, sustainable cities of the future.”

“WeLight provides a complete solution for intelligent, efficient and scalable public lighting infrastructure management in an open architecture. By integrating with NNNCo, it now also provides connectivity on an open, shared carrier-grade network that enables an infinite number of smart applications without tying cities to a specific technology, device provider or platform,” he said.

Wellness TechGroup and NNNCo are both part of the Enzen Group, a global company headquartered in India, providing strategic advisory services to the energy and water sectors.

“This partnership delivers a rich, seamless vertically integrated experience with an open horizontal system and architecture.”

Wellness offers a range of IoT solutions in addition to WeLight, including Smart Waste, Smart Parking, and Energy Efficiency in buildings, with solutions deployed in 400 cities across the world. NNNCo has proven its open standards network model and data platform with major Australian cities including City of Gold Coast, City of Newcastle and City of Lake Macquarie.

NNNCo Founder & CEO Rob Zagarella said “This partnership delivers a rich, seamless vertically integrated experience with an open horizontal system and architecture.”

“It’s about delivering choice and interoperability in a highly secure environment and multi-vendor ecosystem so that cities can implement an infinite number of applications without being locked into a single proprietary vendor.”

“Truly smart cities need to be adaptable and future-proof and this combined offering enables exactly that,” Mr Zagarella added.

LoRaWAN is a global standard technology for IoT supported by the LoRa Alliance which has over 500 members and 120 network operators across 140 countries.

Mr Garcia Ternero said, “LoRaWAN is the ideal city network because it’s a low power, low-cost technology which makes it affordable to deploy and supports many use cases, both powered and battery-operated.”

“Even with street lighting where power isn’t an issue, LoRaWAN enables the lighting application while opening up a multitude of other use cases where low power is important such as water metering, bin sensing, smart parking, environmental, tracking and many more.”

NNNCo and Wellness TechGroup are aligned in our vision to deliver integrated best-of-breed street lighting and other smart city solutions, backed by the global strength of Enzen. We’re excited about the opportunities ahead”, Mr Zagarella concluded.
